You can just send your materials and leave all the decision making to us, or you can make decisions about every detail.  

Generally, we recommend something in between:  you put your images in a general order, tell us who the key people are and which pictures are most important to you, and let us make the final decision on which pictures to include.  That way your pictures can be precisely tailored to the music and tone of your project.  But it's your project, and we'll do our best to work your way.

For those who want the fastest, easiest method

1. Gather your materials.

2.  Choose your music and purchase it if you don't already own it.  For copy write reasons, you need to own the music and send us your CD.  We will return it along with your finished project.  We can suggest some music if you're having trouble deciding.

For those who like to dabble with details:

1. Gather your materials

2.  Put pictures in order and label them or put them in separate envelopes.  Generally plan on about 10 to 15 photos for  each minute of music.  

If you’re sending digital photos, please make sure they are scanned at least 300 dpi and saved as JPEGs or TIFFs.  

For smaller photos (3x5 or smaller) it’s better to scan at a higher resolution, say 600 dpi.  

If possible, remove pictures from photo albums, etc.

3.  Choose video clips.  Rewind tapes to the beginning. Set your VCR’s counter to zero, then fast forward to the clips you want.  Write down the time code (the numbers on the VCRs counter) at the start and end of each video clip.  It’s also helpful if you describe the picture or audio at the start and end so we’re sure to use the right clip.

4.  Choose your music and purchase it if you don’t already own it.  For copy write reasons, you need to own the music and send us your CD.  We will return it along with your finished project.

5.  Call Images & Legacies at (301) 916-6017 to schedule your project.

6.  Fill out and sign the order form. Choose a reliable carrier to send it along with your payment and materials to:
